# 166: Blackburn Rovers road into europe

In the years to come Blackburn Rovers current squad will be telling there grandchildren about the 2006/07 season and the road into Europe.

They'll tell of how after a mediocre season Mark Hughes filled in a form. How this form was then put in an envelope, and a stamp and a little blue par avion sticker applied. Some will tell the tale of how the envelope was addressed to the UEFA head quarters, and placed in a letter box. Many stories will be told of the 4-6 week wait for a response, every member of the team willing the confirmation to arrive. Finally they will tell of the dancing at Ewood Park when that letter confirming that Blackburn Rovers would play in the first round of the "Intertoto Cup"

Blackburn Rovers have today said that they will play a full strength team against Huddersfield Town for the pre-season friendly on 1st August, dispite needed to field a full strength team the same week in the Intertoto Cup.

If Mark Hughes seriously thinks Blackburn need to filled a full strength team to beat either Llanelli or FK Vetra, then he better see if he can loan out the entire A.C. Milan side for the Town match!!!
